Diet and nutrition play a key role in body building and those that workout a lot tend to be on body building supplements that are loaded with proteins and valuable minerals and vitamins. Natural, or steroid free, body building has gained in popularity as body builders have begun to see the long term effects of using "roids" as they are called. Nevertheless, you have many hardcore body builders who take steroids and other illegal supplements to get quicker and faster results with their weight lifting. Make sure you use proper lifting techniques on every rep of every exercise. Using incorrect techniques or lifting form can at the very least prevent you from making any positive progress, but you can also pull or tear muscles, damage tendons and ligaments, break bones and worse. Your arms, legs etc. are only meant to move in certain ways and directions so watch what you're doing.

Simply put, L-Carnitine promotes fat burning. L-Carnitine encourages the body to burn stored fat for energy rather than carbohydrates. It does this by forcing fat into the muscular cells. Carnitine is the only nutrient that can transport fat to the part of the cell that will burn it, the mitochondria. If you can’t get fat into the mitochondria, you can’t burn it. Stop getting up with an alarm clock, get up when your rested and you'll start getting up bigger and bigger every day. This means eight plus hours for most people. Maintain order in your training, though like exercises can be occasionally interchanged during a series of workouts -- dumbbell presses for bench presses, preacher curls for dumbbell incline curls, leg presses for squats. I offer this latitude to trainees who know their training well enough to recognize a need for exercise replacement due to overload, discomfort or displeasure. I don’t support arbitrary changes in your routine; they must be purposeful. This freedom will be valuable in muscle growth and injury prevention, as well as provoking more thinking, and evaluating exercise worth and effectiveness.

For good results, exercising alone won't help. There is a need to maintain healthy eating habits and consume a balanced diet that incorporates food items in such combinations, that you get all the necessary nutrients, required by the body. Well, for muscle growth, the necessary nutrients are proteins, carbohydrates and fats. But then that does not mean, you should not take vitamins and minerals. Nutrients can be mixed in different proportions, depending upon factors like your body weight, fitness goals etc. Keep a check on your food intake and see to it that you eat nutritious foods.
