Entertainment Through Cinema
Since 1999, more than 60 theatres across the country showcase these alternative and independent movies through our national network of Regal Cinema Art theatres. Regal Entertainment Group also hosts a number of film festivals which celebrate the independent spirit of film making.
This concept of Dogme in moviemaking, the city where the Lumiere Brothers had for the first time opened the magic possibilities of this medium. The rules of the Dogme were simple: shooting a film in actual locations in natural light without props, with synchronised sound and with handheld camera.
Von Trier and Thomas Vinterberg, another renowned director, took a vow to follow Dogme. They were trying to take cinema back to its original pristine form. That they broke thepromise is another story.
Vilnius Film Shorts is a competition film festival organized every year. Last year it presented student films from all over Europe (15 film schools). The winners were selected in 3 categories
